Words of Encouragement
During this time of year many people are thinking of Jesus and of God. We need to ask ourselves if we really know God? What is the test that will reveal the true answer to this question?
Let us go to God's Word at 1 John 2:3-6
RSV 1 John 2:3 And by this we may be sure that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He who says "I know him" but disobeys his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him; 5 but whoever keeps his word, in him truly love for God is perfected. By this we may be sure that we are in him: 6 he who says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.
Let us pray
Our gracious Lord and Heavenly Father, be with us today so that we will walk in the same love as Jesus did. Help us keep his commandments so that our love for God will be complete and that others may know that we are Christians by our love.
