Words of Encouragement

We learn by imitating others. Therefore, whom should we as Christians imitate? Paul tells us that God wills that we imitate Him today like this!

Today's Scripture reading is from Ephesians 5:1-2.

1 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children;
   2 and walk in love, as Christ loved you and gave himself up for us, an offering and sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.

Let us pray.

Gracious Lord, and heavenly Father. Be with us this day to help us to walk in the sacrificial love of Jesus Christ today. Strengthen us to resisting our selfishness, and being always patient and kind and never irritable or resentful or angry and the other ugly things of evil, for we know this is how God would have us imitate His love for us in Jesus Christ our Lord!

In Jesus' name we pray.
