Words of Encouragement

August - 08 - 2004

When we find it easy to identify the sin of others, God wants us to be reminded of how important it is for us to take a rigorously honest inventory of our own faithfulness. He wants us to deal with our own sin before we evaluate anyone else.

John's writing helps us with this at John 8:7.

So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."

Let us pray.

Forgive us, Father God, for our sins. Forgive us, especially Father, for the sin of a critical and judgmental spirit. Deliver us from such hurtful and evil habits and please bless us with faithfulness.

In Jesus' name we pray.

Amen.
