Words of Encouragement

July - 16 - 2006

As we grow older, we see our physical nature deteriorating! How do we deal with this? See what Paul wrote about this same thing in his life!

Let us read 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

16 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed every day.
17 For this slight momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison,
18 because we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

Let us go to our heavenly Father in prayer.

Our gracious Lord and heavenly Father, we come to you today with a thankful heart for the many blessings that you have given to us. We ask that you help us keep our hearts and minds set on the eternal home Jesus has promised us in heaven. That we may better focus on the spiritual things of his Kingdom rather than the fading things around our aging bodies and us! Be with us as we look into the future with Him and serve Him with the joy born of this hope of eternal life!

We pray this in Jesus' name.

Amen
