Words of Encouragement

Jesus taught us that worship is not about a place, but about our Father. Knowing that our Father is worshipped by the heavenly hosts should inspire us, humble us, and motivate us to do the same, no matter where we may find ourselves. Above all other qualities, God is holy. He is special, undefiled, pure, perfect, and something much more than everyday and mundane. His glory fills the earth and sky. He is bigger than all we can imagine. He is worthy of our worship, reverence, and awe.

The Scripture reading for today is John 4:21-24.

21 Jesus said to her, "Women, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.
22 "You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.
23 "But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.
24 "God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

Let us go to our heavenly Father in prayer.

Holy God, Holy Father, Holy King of the ages, we praise you for the wonderful gift of your Grace. We know that in comparison to your glory, we are not worthy to be in your presence. But you have made us worthy and holy by the sacrificial blood of Jesus, the Lamb slain for our sins. Thank you for this incredible gift so that we may worship you as we should!

In Jesus' name we pray.

Amen.
