Words of Encouragement
May - 28 - 2006
How can we be sure that our faith is truly alive today? Let us think about these verses in James.
The reading is from James 2:14-17.
14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?
15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food,
16 and one of you says to them, "Depart in peace, be warmed and filled," but you did not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?
17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.Let us go to our heavenly Father in prayer.
Gracious Lord and heavenly Father, we thank you today for your Son. Please be with us as we do good deeds, that they are sure to express our love and faith in him. May they also glorify and praise him for all that he has done and continues to do for us!
In Jesus' name we pray.
Amen
