Words of Encouragement May - 25 - 2003
Have you ever thought about getting to heaven? Paul gives us some challenges to move closer to being with our Lord in Glory in his letter to the Church at Colosse.
The Bible reading is from Colossians 3:1-4
1 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. 3 For you have died, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Let us pray.
Oh Lord, Father in heaven. Be with us as we seek the things that relate to the will and purpose of our Lord. Help us in setting our minds on these things, and not on those of the sinful order of things of this world. Strengthen us as we keep looking forward to the goal of spending eternity with You, our Father, in eternal glory.
In Your Son's name we pray.
