Words of Encouragement

Can we be deceived by evil? There is always the possibility that we will be deceived by evil to think that it doesn't matter if we go on sinning because God in his grace will just forgive us! But this would be a total failure to keep the commitment that we made when we obeyed Christ's command to believe and trust and obey him in repentance and baptism! That baptism meant we were dying to a life of sin, and turning to walk in the paths of righteousness set before us in the teaching of Christ and his apostles and prophets recorded in the New Testament!
Today's Scripture is from Romans 6:1-4.
1 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound?
2 By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?
3 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
Let us go to our heavenly Father in pray.
Our gracious Lord, and heavenly Father. We come to you in thankfulness of all our many blessings that you have given to us. Thank you for your grace upon us when we were sinners. Be with us and guide us to help us to continue to follow your Son Jesus that we too might receive that newness of life.
