Words of Encouragement
January - 30 - 2005
Christ died for the ungodly. Christ died for us. We are powerless to save ourselves or make ourselves righteous. Without Jesus' sacrificial death and without God's grace we could not be saved. Jesus did for us what we could not do and paid off our debt to sin which we could not pay. He did it for us; not because we were good enough to be worthy of his death, but because we couldn't be worthy without him.
Let us read Romans 5:6-7.
6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die.Let us go to our heavenly Father in prayer.
Loving God, thank you. Words cannot express our thanks for the gift of your grace that cost so much and yet means so much to us. Let us give all honor, glory, and praise to our Father who sits on the throne and to our Lord Jesus who went to the cross.
In Jesus' name we offer our thanks.
Amen.
