Welcome and thank you for taking a bible break to test your knowledge of God's word.
This week's question:

Which king went insane and ate grass?

This king was allowed by God to gain great power. He took the king and people of Judah into captivity (Daniel 1:1-2). Now this king had a dream and so he asked Daniel to interpret it. He told him it was about a tree that sprang up so large that the whole earth could see it, and its food was for all, but then an angelic watcher descended from heaven and shouted out to cut down the tree, yet leave the stump, and then he would share with the beasts of the field, as his mind would be changed to the mind of a beast for seven period's of time until he should recognize that the Most High is over the realm of mankind (Daniel 4:8-17).

Twelve months later the king was walking upon his rooftop of his royal palace reflecting while saying. "Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for a royal dwelling by my mighty power and for the honor of my majesty?" (Daniel 4:30).

This brings us to our question, "Which king went insane and ate grass?" We turn and read; "While the word was in the king's mouth, a voice came from heaven, saying, 'King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is declared: sovereignty has been removed from you, and you will be driven away from mankind, and your dwelling place will be with the beasts of the field. You will be given grass to eat like cattle, and seven periods of time will pass over you, until you recognize that the Most High is ruler over the realm of mankind, and He bestows it on whomever He wishes.' "Immediately the word concerning Nebuchadnezzar was fulfilled; and he was driven away from mankind and began eating grass like cattle, and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven, until his hair had grown like eagles' feathers and his nails like birds' claws. But at the end of that period I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven, and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever; for His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His kingdom endures from generation to generation." (Daniel 4:31-34).

So there we have the answer to our question as it is none other than king Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon!

May we not let our pride get in our way in thinking that we have done great things upon this earth without giving credit to God who gives us our strength. Like king Nebuchadnezzar; "But when his heart was lifted up and his spirit became so proud that he behaved arrogantly, he was deposed from his royal throne, and his glory was taken from him." Daniel 5:20)
