Welcome and thank you for taking a bible break to test your knowledge of God's word.
This week's question:

Where is wisdom found?

If you are reading this, then contemplate this little bit of wisdom about life, "For whoever is joined with all the living, there is hope; surely a live dog is better than a dead lion. For the living know they will die; but the dead do not know anything, nor have they any longer a reward, for their memory of them is forgotten. Indeed their love, their hate and their zeal have already perished, and they will no longer have a share in all that is done under the sun. Go then, eat your bread in happiness and drink your wine with a cheerful heart; for God has already approved your works. Let your clothes be white all the time, and let not oil be lacking on your head. Enjoy life with the woman whom you love all the days of your fleeting life which He has given to you under the sun; for this is your reward in life and in your toil in which you have labored under the sun. Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might; for there is no activity or planning or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol where you are going." (Ecclesiastes 9:4-10)

It's easy to think life is unfair and look at the dark side of things as we move along our pathway of life, instead of enjoying the wonderful things that are right before us as we have our health. For it can be fleeting and as we age, it is more difficult to enjoy what was once a simple thing to do, like taking a walk! But men, in the futility of their mind, want overlook an important part of this full creation and why we are here, "For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written, 'I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the cleverness of the clever I will set aside.' Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. For indeed Jews ask for signs and Greeks search for wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness, but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble; but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are, so that no man may boast before God."
(1 Corinthians 1:9-29)

That brings us to our question, "Where is wisdom found?". Job understands that man will not find true wisdom, "But where can wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding? Man does not know its value, nor is it found in the land of the living." (Job 28:12-13). That begs the question, just where can this great wisdom be found?

So then, for the answer to our question we turn and read, "God understands its way, and He knows its place. For He looks to the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens. When He imparted weight to the wind and meted out the waters by measure, when He set a limit for the rain and a course for the thunderbolt, then He saw it and declared it; He established it and also searched it out. And to man He said, 'Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.'" (Job 28:23-28).

So there we have the answer to our question, as Job declares "And to man He said, 'Behold, the fear the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.'" (Job 28:28)!

May we take the advice of Job, which was directed by God to respect Him enough to follow Him for life as Solomon writes, "The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person." (Ecclesiastes 12:13)
