Bible Break

Welcome and thank you for taking a bible break to test your knowledge of God's word.
This week's question:

Who is "The fool"?

"There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death." (Proverbs 16:25). Man may search for the "Meaning of life", but without the Giver of life's rule book to guide them they are like the "…blind guides of the blind. And if a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit." (Matthew 15:14). There are many who profess great wisdom about this earth and its formation and its history by presuming the evolutionary process and the millions or even billions of years to pressure cook creation.

1 Corinthians 1:20-29 Where is the wise man? Where is the Scribe? Where is the debater of this age?

Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through

its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message

preached to save those who believe. For indeed Jews ask for a signs and Greeks search for wisdom; but

we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness, but to those who are

called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because the

foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For consider your

calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many

noble; but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the

weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, and the base things of the world and the

despised God has chosen, the things that are not , so that He may nullify the things that are, so that no

man may boast before God.

God has seen fit, through His wisdom, to choose the base and the despised things by man so that they will not look to themselves with pride and boast of what they have done to deserve eternal life. Even Saul was chosen by God as King over Israel who was "…a choice and handsome man" and stood from his shoulders up taller than all the people (1 Samuel 9:2), but he was also "little in his own eyes" (1 Samuel 15:17), he became full of pride and presumed that god would accept things the way "Saul" thought was best and the kingdom was torn away from him as Samuel told him, "Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice," (1 Samuel 15:20-29).

Today, we are to be no different than Saul, as we are to be "little in our own eyes", or humble toward one another and Recognize the authority of God's word as the only Law Giver for life through His inspired word,

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for

correction, for training in Righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every

good work.

2 timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have

their ears tickled they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and

will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.

Hundreds of doctrines (and probably thousands) have developed for the past some two-thousand years from God's word that teaches one faith (Ephesians 4:4-6). God has made Himself evident to all mankind so that we are without excuse.

Romans 1:18-22 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and

unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about

God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His

invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood

through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did

not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish

heart was darkened . Professing to be wise, they became fools,

And so that brings us around to our answer to our question, "Who is 'The fool'?", we turn to Psalms 14:1 "The fools has said in his heart, 'There is no God'.". And so there we have our answer to our question, it is the people who profess through all of their earthly wisdom that shouts of God's creation that, "There is no God.", to their own destruction.

Romans 2:11-13 For there is no partiality with God. For all who have sinned without the Law will also

perish without the Law, and all who have sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law; for it is not

the hearers of the Law who are just before God, but the doers of the Law will be justified.

Some seem to think that even they do not recognize God, that if He does exist, all will be forgiven and the door will remain open.

 Proverbs 1:24-29 Because I called and you refused, I stretched out my hand and no one paid attention;

and you neglected all my counsel and you did not want my reproof; I will also laugh at your calamity, I

will mock when your dread comes like a storm and your calamity like a whirlwind, when distress and

anguish come upon you. They will call on me and I will not answer; they will seek me diligently but they

will not find Me, because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the Lord.

Let us submit to the full authority of God's word by not adding to it, nor subtracting from it so that the word is not distorted in any fashion (Galatians 1:6-10, Revelation 22:18-19), so that we may please Him for life eternal. "When pride comes, then comes dishonor, but with the humble is wisdom. …and he who is wise wins souls." (Proverbs 11:2 & 30).
